What people are saying about Voices for Horses
I shall keep advising people to check out your website, as I truly believe its the only one of its kind and will go on to do fab things for our horses in the future - I thank you for that.
Lorraine
I just want to say I am very impressed with your Market Place. I have had a great response to my adverts but above all I think you have the only market pace that does not approve adverts from equine dealers without following up references. This gives me great confidence. Ethics over economics is a rare thing indeed. You have set a standard I hope others will follow.

I just want to say a big heart felt THANK YOU to Emma and all involved with VFH. The site is fab and the advice and support we have received since Darci was stolen has been exceptional. Darci is home safe and well, but I am always on the site when I get a chance to get back to my PC. Once again thank you and keep up the good work.

Voices for Horses is very impressive, as is the amount of time and effort you must devote to it - your communications and updates are so prompt, relevant and helpful - well done.

Your website is great for everyone interested in horses, it seems to cover everything, including welfare. Keep up the good work.

Since I have heard of Emma and all her enormous good efforts for the equine world, I have become very interested in your work and am on the computer on a daily basis going through your wonderful website and links. In that respect a whole new "world" has opened up for me and perhaps I could spread the word. Therefore I would love to receive some more detailed information on what it would entail. Thanking you for all your work. Warmest wishes
Marianne
Thank you for such a fantastic site, I have made it my home page and check in every day!

This is just a line to tell you how much I appreciate the Voices for Horses web site. All the information you have given relating to subjects from Grass Sickness to Ragwort and the Equine Welfare Protocol Document is truly momentous. Your obvious dedication to keeping us up to date with the very latest equestrian news and wonderful articles and your concern for the less fortunate equines is truly wonderful.
Thank you so much.
Anna Jones
As a regular visitor to the VFH site, I find it informative, user-friendly and always relevant. I particularly appreciate the constantly up-dated news and progress of major national events affecting equines in the widest sense, notably the Amersham story. The campaigning side of the website is both dynamic and inspiring and the inclusion of welfare issues concerning other animals ensures we are all aware of the wider picture and feel empowered to take action! The rapid growth and development of the site in its first six months is a testament both to its popularity among an increasing band of devotees and to the dedication of the VFH Team. Keep up the good work!

How Voices for Horses came to be
Emma Kurrels, the founder of Voices for Horses, is also a freelance trainer and writer, producing a column on equine behaviour for the ‘Q&A’ section of Horse Magazine. After working in the UK, America and Australia, studying and researching different training methods and the science of behaviour, Emma realized that a great mass of conflicting information was being offered by many different schools of thought. On her return to England in 1999 Emma became a co-founder of Company of Horses, an organization dedicated to offering balanced education, combining academic theory with practical guidance in handling and training. This especially focused on the ways in which human actions and motivation alter equine behaviour. During her career as a trainer Emma met many people, amateur as well as professional, with concerns ranging across the board, often struggling to find solutions, help or support. This sowed the seeds of Voices for Horses. | In 2006 Emma met Tony Scott from Akira Studio who was passionate about the concept and had the vision and ability to turn Voices for Horses into the site is it today. Along with his own team, Tony continues to work closely with Emma. Together they will strive to ensure that Voices for Horses remains the ultimate equestrian web site. A test site for Voices for Horses was launched in May 2006, and ideas, requests and suggestions by visitors to the site were assiduously collected. These were incorporated in a brand ‘new look' Voices for Horses, which was launched in November 2007. |
| We are committed to continuing development and improvement of the site, based on member feedback, and at the same time acting in the best interest of the equestrian community and the equines on whose behalf we speak. This is the bedrock of our mission. |
